Our big news!

We are having a new baby!

Yes, this ultrasound picture can only mean one thing. We are expecting another baby! Mike and I were quite surprised with the news of our second child. Needless to say, this was not at all planned, but some of the sweetest blessings come in their own timing, not ours. So, we find ourselves with joy and anticipation over our new little one. (In case you are confused over the ultrasound picture, the baby is the little blob in the middle of the large black circle.

I am currently 9 weeks along, with the baby due on our anniversary, June 10th. However, because of my status as a "high risk pregnancy," the doctor said he will try to get the baby to 36 weeks and then, if all looks good, he will take the baby early. Will was born at 33 weeks, so things should go well. I will likely be placed on strict bed rest sometime in March.

In advance, we thank you for your support and prayers during the next few months as we watch our sweet William David grow and await his brother or sister.

Our first family parade!

We attended the Gold Rush Days Festival in the town square of Dahlonega, GA. This is also the town where we were married. It was a beautiful day for a parade. Now, mind you, it was nothing like the Mardi Gras parades that I am used to, but none the less, it was a lot of fun.

Will was completely pooped and slept through most of the parade. He's quite comfortable hanging around on daddy.

Will's 1st Festival

Will attended his first fall festival in the North Georgia Mountains. The Sorghum Festival!!! (Sorghum is a kind of syrup.) He loved being attached to daddy. We saw pole climbing, horseshoe tossing and tabacco spitting contests. Yee haw!!! Will had his first encounter with a donkey, too. It was fun to watch Mike show off the baby. He talked to any sweet little old lady who stopped to admire our little one.

Will at 3 1/2 months.

Will is 3 1/2 months old! Each month, we are taking a picture of him with this rabbit, so we can see how much he has grown. Look at that smile! He is starting to giggle.

Vonda visits from Germany!

Our dear friend Vonda, her husband, Ian and sweet baby girl, Ella Rose came into Atlanta to visit. They are currently stationed in Germany where her husband serves as a pilot in the Air Force. I've known Vonda for years and together we have both prayed for incredible husbands and precious babies. It is so special that we are sharing in these years together, even if across the world.
We all met with many of Vonda's other family and friends at her favorite Atlanta place, the Varsity. The time was short, but oh so sweet! Vonda and I jokingly say that we have "signed papers" on the Will and Ella Rose and that one day they will be married. Tee hee hee!

Here is my sweet man in his bunny ears!
Will got hungry. He's not quite ready for Varsity hotdogs just yet!

Will goes on his first drive in the Mini!

One Proud Papa!
Soon, Will will be 3 mths old. So, we thought it was time to take him out in the Mini. We had to buy another car seat that is much smaller to fit in the backseat. Anne's cousin, Genny, who is in graduate school at UGA, joined us for the day. We drove about 15 miles north to Lake Russell. The weather was beautiful...clear skies and crisp fall air. "Top down weather" as Mike would say. We packed lunches, buckled Will in the car and hit the road. Mike took the curves with the zeal of a little kid. And Will, he just slept the whole way there. Aunt Genny, "G" as Mike calls her, had a great time as well. She is definitely falling in love with our little man!

This is Will on the drive.

This is Will when Mike hit a fast curve! Awwww, momma!
Aunt G is confused! An LSU cap, with a UGA shirt!

Welcome to our Blog!

With so many family members and friends in different states, we thought this would be a great way to share the wonderful things going on with our family and our sweet baby William. We invite you to follow along as Will's first year progresses and beyond. My dear cousin, Genny, just moved to Athens, GA from New Orleans. The other day she said she realized she would one of the only family members to watch Will grow up in the next couple of years. Well, through the magic of the internet and this blog, all of our loved ones can be a part of his growing up.

So often, family and friends ask for new pictures. It is hard to attach them via email. Hopefully this will be the best and easiest way to share what is going on! It doesn't always promise to be riveting, but there should always be something new. Enjoy!
