Baby Proofing, yea right

Oh, boy! I keep wondering, do the "Terrible Two's" begin at age 2 or in the 2nd year of life. Either way, we are headed right for them, ahead of the game, I'm afraid! Now that Will has discovered how to move, he seems to be unstoppable. He is not walking on his own, YET. But, he's already everywhere and into everything. He crawls with record speed and has very little interest in toys. He would much rather play with things that are "no-no's." What a stinker! As my grandmother, Beulah would say, He's too smart for his own good. We are definitely having to keep our thumb on him.

I am learning to keep a camera close by to capture these precarious moments before I intervene. Below are some pictures of a few of his sha-na-nagins!

Checking on his sister, more like, ready to attack!

Will disappeared for a second, when I found him, he was in the bathroom discovering the toilet paper! What fun!

Lately, he enjoys "helping" mommy with the laundry. He likes to take all of the clothes out of the basket while I try to fold them. This time, he crawled right in and got comfy.

"What? I'm helping!"

This was a good one. He managed to remove the lid and dump the FULL gallon of water we use for wipes all over the floor in Caroline's room. And then, seemed to look at it with amazement. This took several beach towels to clean up.

Getting into Mommy's yarn.

For someone who is not walking, he is sure good at climbing.

"Oh, mommy, is watching. Caught again!"

Practicing to drink all by himself.

Again, in Caroline's room. He spends a lot of time snooping around in there. This time, he found a doll and enjoyed beating it up.

Caught, again. Darn!

Watching Daddy outside.

Lovingly (not really), poking Caroline in the face. We are trying to teach him to use gentle hands. No luck so far! He doesn't know his own strength.

Oops, he found some tissue on the table.
And, promptly began to tear it to shreds.

Holding on to his beloved white sock, (we can't explain it), he still tries to fit in his old bouncy chair that now belongs to Caroline. It seems all things old are new again!

I've learned that when he's quiet, it usually means trouble. I found him, once again, in Caroline's room. He had dumped and thrown all of the clothes from her laundry hamper and then, gleefully rolled around on the carpet.

This is how I found him. Ahhh, the joy of being a 1-year old!

Trust me, there were many more moments that I was not able to capture on camera. During those three days, he also managed to remove the cover to a bolt that anchors the....TOILET! and put it in his mouth! I remember, one day, at the playground, another mom was telling me about some disgusting things her child had put in his mouth and I foolishly thought to myself, "not my child! never!" Ha, ha, well he proved me wrong! That same day he also broke a glass bowl, that I thought he couldn't reach. My goodness, this child is going to give me fits! And just think, Caroline is right on his heels. What fun!!
